what is help hope live?

Help Hope Live is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps transplant and catastrophic injury patients and their families afford critical but out-of-pocket medically related expenses through fundraising guidance and patient support, as well as financial and other resources.,

help hope live offers:

Fundraising guidance: 

• Identify volunteer network
• Write appeal letters for community circulation
• Provide step-by-step instructions for organizing fundraising events
• Provide materials for the collection of monetary tax-deductible contributions

Patient Resources: 

• Design flyers and other promotional materials for events
• Provide media support
• Help set up and maintain personalized patient Web pages on the Help Hope Live web site
• Assure fiscal accountability of funds raised
• Provide tax deductibility for contributors to patient campaigns

Help Hope Live also works to:


• Raise money and administer funds for medical expenses of patients and living donors not covered by insurance;
• Offer direct financial assistance in the form of $500 and $1,000 challenge grants to eligible patients;
• Provide expertise, information and education about transplantation and spinal cord injury;
• Raise awareness about the critical need for solid organ, bone marrow, stem cell and tissue donation;
• Provide assurance of fiscal accountability in the collection, management and disbursement of funds raised.

What catastrophic injury expenses does Help Hope live pay for?

• Health insurance premiums, deductibles and co-payments
• Medications
• Travel expenses for rehabilitation and treatment
• Relocation or moving expenses due to injury (such as in the case of moving to be closer to a rehabilitation center or hospital for treatment)
• Temporary housing due to relocation
• Mileage, tolls and parking fees for visits to rehabilitation center or hospital
• Specially equipped vans and durable medical equipment
• Home modification related to injury
• Home health care services
• Physical therapy and vocational rehabilitation
• Experimental treatments
• Burial/cremation expenses in the event patient passes
